Class Schedule

We offer a variety of classes at Badger Mountain yarns! If you have a suggestion for a class, feel free to drop in and talk to us about it.

To enroll in a class, stop by the store, call us or email us. All classes are held at our store.

Friday Morning Drop in Class ($5) 10:00 am - 12:00 noon - come in to knit, crochet, spin, and ask for help with your current project.

Intermediate Knitting/Crochet: Learn new skills in knitting or crochet. Expand your skills with a wrap, shawl, sweater or even learn the simple stitch in Tunisian crochet.
Skill Requirements: knit and purl  Cost: $60
Materials: pattern, yarn, needles or hook
Tuesdays: July 11, 18, 25, August 1 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Beginning Knitting: Learn how to hold your yarn, how to cast on and bind off, how to knit and purl. You will practice these skills through making a simple hat or scarf.
Skill Requirements: none Cost: $60
Materials: A light colored worsted or chunky weight yarn, US size 8 to 11 circular needles, point protectors, and a darning needle.
Tuesdays: July 11, 18, 25, August 1 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Intro to Lace Knitting: Learn to YO, Double YO, SSK, K2tog, P2tog, PSSO, Slip stitches, and CDD. Bring in your favorite scarf or shawl pattern and expand your skills. It’s easier to learn to do lace knitting on a fingering to worsted weight yarn so you can see your stitches and the lean angles of the decreases.
Skill Requirement: knit and purl. Cost: $60
Materials: Locking stitch markers, pattern, yarn, and needles. Check with instructor. We can help you find a pattern, yarn, and needles appropriate for your project.
Tuesdays: July 11, 18, 25, and August 1 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm

Kids & Parents Beginning Crochet: Looking for a fun activity you can explore with your children? Come in and learn an art that can last a life time! Learn basic crochet stitches, or expand your skills in a safe and positive environment. Skill Requirements: none Cost: $40 per person
Materials: A light colored worsted or chunky weight yarn, H/ 5mm, I/ 5.5mm, or J/ 6mm crochet hook, locking stitch marker, and a darning needle.
Wednesdays: July 5, 12, 19, 26 10:30 am – 11:30 am

Kids & Parents Beginning Knitting: Looking for a fun activity you can explore with your children? Come in and learn an art that can last a life time! Learn basic knit stitches, or expand your skills in a safe and positive environment.
Skill Requirements: none Cost: $40 per person
Materials: A light colored worsted or chunky weight yarn, US 8/ 5mm, US 9/ 5.5mm, or US 10/ 6mm single point or circular knitting needle, and a darning needle.
Wednesdays: July 5, 12, 19, 26 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

Fading into Friday: This is an evening drop in stitch night! You are welcome to work on anything you like. Some of us are continuing the popular "FIND YOUR FADE" shawl KAL by Andrea Mowry of DreaReneeKnits.com. The pattern is $7.00 and available in store from Ravelry.com. This pattern is worked with 7 different colors of fingering weight yarn. You can use 1-10 different colors. Come and join us!
Skills Requirement: Cast on and bind off, knit, purl Cost: $5 each week
Thursdays: July 6, 13, 20, 27 6:00 pm-7:30 pm

Socks: Learn to knit socks toe-up or cuff down using either the Magic Loop method with one circular needle or with two circular needles.
Skills Requirement: cast on, knit, and purl Cost: $60
Materials: 100 g fingering weight yarn (approx. 440 yards) a 32" cable length for Magic Loop or two circular needles size US 0/2mm, US 1/2.25mm, or US 1.5/2.5mm with a 16" cable length
Saturdays: July 8, 15, 22, 29 10:00 am-11:30 am
